The FREE Airbag replacement is for anyone who purchase the following Toyota models: Hilux, Fortuner, Yaris, Avensis and Corolla between 2001 and 2016 from Toyota Kenya.

The vehicles mentioned above (1.) are equipped with a Driver’s and Passenger front airbag inflator. Toyota believes these inflators may have an increased potential for moisture intrusion over time and could potentially make the inflator rupture and injure vehicle occupants

Toyota is currently requesting the customers who bought Hilux, Fortuner, Yaris, Avensis and Corolla between 2001 and 2016 from Toyota Kenya to bring their cars for an airbag replacement.

No. There are no warnings that this condition exists. However, the condition does not cause the airbag to activate when it should not. Also, the front driver and passenger airbag is designed to inflate only in certain moderate to severe crashes.

The replacement will take approximately 1 hour to 3 hours depending on the model. However, depending upon the dealer’s work schedule, it may be necessary to make the vehicle available for a longer period. We encourage you to book your time in advance through our Toyota Kenya Branch Network.
